All of our Breeds are Hypoallergenic and Do Not Shed. They do loose some dead hair when brushing but this is not shedding.
Their hair is rooted. Their dander is what makes them Hypoallergenic. Non-Shedding Breeds have a dander that people are not
allergic to. It is not the Dog Hair most people are Allergic to it is their dog's dander.
The Bichon Frise
The Havanese ( Bichon
Havanais or Bichon Havanese ) and
The Maltese (Bichon
Maltais or Bichon Maltese ) are all in the Bichon Family.
" The Bichon family of dogs are a related
non-sporting group of dog breeds, which share some common characteristics such as a curled tail, short muzzle, drop ears and
round, dark eyes. Their main characteristic is their coat, which is composed of hair rather than fur. "
" All Bichon breeds are playfull, but
not overly active, as compared to other toy
breeds. "
" They were all bred to be amiable companion
dogs and
have a friendly, alert temperament. Their life expectancy is 15 years or more. "
" The Maltese is undoubtedly ancient, and dogs of its type, with long hair and dropped ears,
were associated in ancient Greek and Roman times with the island of Malta. In earlier imagery of the breed, it is shown with
wavy fur, more typical to the Bichons, and it is only relatively recently that a totally smooth coated Maltese has developed
as the final type. The Romans selected for a pure white coat from the very early multicolored Maltese-like dogs. The Maltese
has steadily retained its popularity throughout the centuries, unlike any other Bichon. "
" The modern Bichon Frise was created by combining the Tenerife with the poodles and barbets of the day
to produce a Bichon with a coat that is tightly curled, rather than wavy—hence the full name, Bichon
a poil Frisé. Only white, and white tinged with buff, are allowed in the show ring. The Bichon Frise is
a very cheerful breed which can easily be seen by the way its tail cheerfully curls up high on its rump."
" The Bichon Havanais, or Havanese, seems to have been descended from a variety
of small, Bichon-type dogs that traveled with Spanish and Italian sailors to Cuba.
They were possibly bred with a now extinct poodle type from South America to produce a wavy coat which was also silky, but
it may be that they simply expressed a wavy coat trait through a random chance of genetics. In appearance, breeders prefer
a "natural" look, allowing all possible colors and letting the hair grow long. It is a rare dog breed. "

The Poodle
"The Poodle has been known throughout Western Europe for at least 400 years and
are depicted in 15th century paintings and in bas-reliefs from the 1st century. The subject is controversial of where the
dog was officially developed and no one really knows the breeds true country of origin. France has taken a claim on the origin,
but the AKC gives the honor to the Germans where they say it was used as a water retrieval dog. Other claims have been Denmark,
or the ancient Piedmont. What is certain is that the dog was a descendant of the now extinct French Water Dog, the Barbet
and possibly the Hungarian Water Hound. The name "Poodle" most likely came out of the German word "Pudel," which means "one
who plays in water". The "Poodle clip" was designed by hunters to help the dogs
swim more efficiently. They would leave hair on the leg joints to protect them from extreme cold and sharp reeds. The
hunters in Germany and France used the Poodle as a gun dog and as a retriever of waterfowl and to sniff out truffles laying
underground in the woods. The French started using the breed as a circus performer because of the dog's high intelligence
and trainability. The breed became very popular in France, which led to the common name "French Poodle", but the French people
actually called the breed the "Caniche," meaning "duck dog. The Toyand Miniature Poodle varieties were bred down from larger dogs, today known as Standard Poodles. In the 18th century smaller poodles became popular with royal people. The three official sizes are the Toy, Miniature and
Standard Poodle. They are considered one breed and are judged by the same written standard but with different size requirements."

"The Toy Poodle is remarkably intelligent. Highly responsive, they are said to be one of the most
trainable breeds. Sweet, cheerful, perky and lively, they like to be with people. Delightful, very amusing and keen. They
make a very good watchdog for their size." |
The Poodle also has a long lifespan of towards 15yrs.
