Here is a Checklist that you need to go over before you decide to get a puppy.
1.) Do you have the time to care for a puppy ?
2.) Are you willing to do the research on the breed?
3.) Do you have a vet and the resources to provide proper health care?
4.) All all your family members on board with the idea of getting a new puppy ?
When you bring your new puppy home.
Puppy proof an assigned area for the first week.
Learn the needs of your breed grooming/health requirements
Have everything ready crate, puppy gates, pens.
Ask your vet if/when your puppy is ready for it's first walk
Everyone in the family should establish themselves as pack leader.
Put puppies in crate or pen right after eating for 30 min then take outside to the potty.
Place a blanket/cloth with your scent in his/her crate/pen. Use a crate for sleeping. (It is a good idea to either attach
the crate or put the crate in their exercise pen if you are using one.)
Spay or Neuter your puppy at 4-6 months not before. If this is done before 8 months you are blocking the hormones.
